Philadelphia's Biggest and Best Fall Festivals and Activities
While the first day of fall doesn’t arrive until Saturday, September 23rd, it’s never too early to get a head start on planning your fall events and activities. This is our favorite time of year in the city for many reasons—pumpkin beer, apple fritters, and of course football season #flyeaglesfly. We’re sharing a few of the best and biggest fall festivals coming up this season as well as where you need to stay to enjoy it all.
Fall Sports in Philadelphia
You can’t celebrate fall in Philly without going to a major sporting event. We’re fortunate to live in a city that has a professional franchise in five major league sports from football to soccer, basketball, and hockey—there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Whether you’re looking to catch a game at a local pub or pregame outside the stadium, we’ve shared a beginner's guide to immerse yourself in Philly sports culture. Philadelphia Fall Arts Fest—Saturday, September 23rd
If you have an appreciation for the arts, you’ll love the Philadelphia Fall Arts Fest at The Kimmel Cultural Campus. All ages are welcome to participate in fun activities, watch a variety of live festival-style performances, connect with more than 50 local art organizations, and win free tickets to upcoming shows. Performances range from jazz to opera and beyond. The entire event lineup is still underway. Mark your calendar and check back soon for more details.

Midtown Village Fall Festival—Saturday, September 30th
The Midtown Village Fall Festival celebrates local art, small businesses, and everything the Midtown Village community has to offer. This annual fall festival attracts thousands of visitors in one day to walk the streets of Midtown Village, shop from local vendors, sip and sample local brews and small bites, and enjoy a variety of family-friendly activities. Throughout the festival, there are multiple stages of live entertainment, crafters, children’s activities, and much more.
This festival is free and open to the public from 12:00pm-8:00pm.
Old City Fest—Sunday, October 8th
Spend the day roaming the street of America’s most historic square mile—Old City, Philadelphia. The Old City Fest is an annual fall festival that celebrates the art and design, fashion and food, creativity, and culture of the neighborhood. The festival will include live musical performances, pop-up performances, outdoor activities for everyone to enjoy, and more than 100+ participating food, drink, and craft vendors.
